The redistricting proposal will not go to the County Board of Supervisors in December 18. On Monday, December 9, the redistricting proposal for the election of the County Board Supervisors was on the agenda of the County Board Executive Committee. It was approved but amendments were proposed. It will again be presented with its modifications to the County Executive Board for their review and approval at their January meeting and then forwarded to the County Board of Supervisors. The County Board will most likely vote on the redistricting proposal at their January meeting. As with any legislation, it takes time. Please continue to pay attention to this important upcoming vote. You will continued to notified about the date it that important final vote will occur.
You may not decide to go to the December County Board meeting because the redistricting item will not be on the agenda. But if you do go, you will see that the County Board meetings are a wonderful place to find out how local government works and how much of our welfare in Brown County is determined by this powerful governing board. As citizens, you will learn a lot about how our community has become the place that it is. The meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month.
